A number of people have recently sprung up on the web offering ranking methods. Some are obviously crocks, but others have something interesting to offer. Here's a selection:

WWRR (World Wide Ratings and Rankings)

A phenomenal number of sports covered; lots of formatted historical data on major sports; a little tennis.

Women's Tennis Rankings

Robert Waltz's detailed analysis of the WTA Rankings.

UPR (Universal Player Ratings)

Tennis only; the data collection seems not to have been updated since May 1998 last time I looked.

Yahoo: Sports/Ratings and Rankings

Only WWRR covered at the moment - do a search on "ranking" to find football, baseball, tennis, etc.

World Soccer Elo Ratings

Using the standard Elo system on international soccer results - cool!

Herman's Cricket Ratings

This guy's "never touched a bat or a ball in his life", but he's still got interesting results. Not enough info on the method.

World Rugby Rankings

Excellent predictive success for rugby fans
